Snakes and reptiles are a natural part of the ecosystem. They are great rodent predators and also a source of food for other animals and birds such as kookaburras. Many Queensland hay sheds have a resident python keeping rodent numbers down.
However, from time to time snakes come into homes and backyards where they pose a risk to humans and pets, and for the safety of everyone (including the snake) it is best to catch and relocate them.
How to minimise snakes moving in
Snakes and reptiles move around looking for food, shelter and mates.

To minimise snakes moving in around your yard, keep rodents under control and relocate places for them to hide such as woodpiles and rubbish.

Keep your doors closed to minimise the chances of them seeking food or shelter in your house!
